OMGEEEEE, this is the final week of the one-room challenge presented by apartment therapy. It has been an exciting 8 weeks. It seems as if it was only yesterday that I started. This challenge flew by so fast(well to me). I am so happy to be a participant in their 10-year anniversary. This was something that I always wanted to do and knew that I wanted to do it once I had my own space. So let's get to it. This final reveal was something that I really wanted to complete and I am happy I was able to do so within the 8 weeks.
Let's me take you back to the 1st week! We had just purchased a house about a month prior and wanted to get everything situated before the kids got out of school. I tried to start reno and also do the one-room challenge. This gave me the opportunity to do both! Coming from my first time at High point market, I was ready for the challenge.
Recap: Week 1:decided to do the powder room. This I believe would be used often because of guest and also, its right off the family room. This is centrally located and wanted to give it a full facelift
Week 2: Started painting and figuring out where i would like to place the wallpaper. Because it is so busy, I didn't want it to be where the mirror and lights would be.
Week 3: Started installing the wallpaper and man did that make a big difference. Also by now, the floor was changed and the toilet was out to be replaced
Weeks 4-7: I was still working on the wallpaper install and trying to get the vanity ordered. By this time, I had already purchased the mirror from Highpoint market and was ready to install. I knew I needed to do a little touch up of the paint before the final reveal. I wanted to make sure everything was in place before the vanity arrived. The toilet was installed and made the room look so better and the sleek design of it is stylish. I think I may upgrade the others,lol.
All in all, weeks 1-7 was challenging yet exciting. I am glad we are at the end. Now lets get to the grand finale!!!
Here it is!! The excitement each week, the anticipation, the blogs and stories that I saw in awe, all lead to this time when me and the other participants finally reveal what we accomplished in the 8 weeks.
I must say, the vanity turned out well and it works with all that I designed. I am still a little disappointed that I wasn't able to do my hanging lights but I am sure happy I found something that still brought my vision to life. I even found a cool automatic soap dispenser that went perfectly with the decor!
