One Room Challenge Participant

Updated: Apr 14, 2022

Okay, so I have decided to participate in the spring #Oneroomchallenge. I am so excited and nervous at the same time. This is the first time I am doing something like this and wanted to showcase my designs.

I am excited to share the room that I will be showcasing. Because this is my first time, I wanted to do something that I can complete. I decided to makeover my powder room. Let me give you a little back story about this.

My husband and I recently bought a house together( he previously had one) and we are doing renovations before we permanently move in. The house was move-in ready but not our style. The floors were outdated and had carpet in the bedrooms( we don't like carpet). The house has good bones so it isn't hard to change it to our liking. Because of the renovation and time crunch to move in, I wanted to have something completed by the end of May. This is the best way I know how to challenge myself to complete a room.

So back to the powder room. The powder room is about 25sqft with high enough ceilings to not feel boxed in. The wall color is cream with brown tiles. I want to brighten the space and make the powder room exciting. Even though it may not be used often, when I have guests, I want it to be a conversation piece.

I won't say too much about it but I will give you the rundown. Follow my journey as I try to complete the one-room

challenge in 8weeks!

Don't forget to check out the one room challenge website(www.oneroomchallenge.com/orc-blog) and view the other participants and follow their journey.

The rundown:

  • incorporate wallpaper

  • Paint part of the wall

  • change vanity

  • change mirror

  • replace toilet

  • change flooring

  • Update door hardware

  • replace holders(towel, toilet paper)
