Week 5! ORC. Lets flush it out!

Hey guys,v we are in week 5 of the one-room challenge and I am excited to announce, that we have installed the toilet! I was so nervous to get it together by now but had a great plumber come and fit it in for me.

The toilet is a swiss madison all in one sleek toilet. A dual flush system that is so pretty. I like the fact that you cannot see the hardware from the floor or even when the seat opens. This also has an automatic closing lid( I hate to see a toilet seat up).

It seems as if this week went by real fast. As I mentioned before, I wanted to discuss the lighting situation. In the video below you will see my dilemma. I had this vision of hanging lights on both sides of the plumbing wall(where the vanity and toilet are). I didn't realize(because of excitement) that the air vent was in the spot I want to hang. I measured and realized the lights will be off-center if I was to still hang them. I wasn't sure how I was going to make it work. Then my electrician told me I had an issue with the electrical lines being out of whack and basically would expose the existing area! I wanted so badly to get those lights but to keep my sanity, I decided to get a vanity light and put it where the old like was. It will work out once it is installed and will still keep on track with my design.

In design, there are always changes and you just have to go with the flow. So, that was the light story. Let's hope everything else goes smoothly for the last 3 weeks!

There wasn't a lot of painting this week because of the toilet getting installed. Baseboards are in and I will be doing something funky with the ceiling. I am happy with the results so far and I cannot wait for the big reveal! Don't forget to check out the other participants and follow along as we complete the one-room challenge! #oneroomchallenge, #orcat, #apartmenttherapy
