Let me just start by saying, I am super excited about this one and I hope you are ready for it... Let's recap week 1...
So, I decided to do the fall one-room challenge with media partner apartment therapy for their 10-year anniversary. I decided to do the primary bedroom because it needs it and I am so ready to have my own peace of mind with all that's going on with renovations and backorders and just everything overall. The floors were completed right after the purchase of the home and I am sooooo happy we did that! Such a big difference a little tile work can do.
WEEK 1:
Walls painted(prior)

No lights just pre-wired for ceiling light/fan

This week, I had the pleasure of having this awesome furniture maker/wall unit creator install my wall design. I wanted something that was not over the top but framed the bed and the TV. Because I plan to make this project with minimal color, unlike my previous challenge, I wanted to keep the wood slats as natural as possible or without color. I went ahead and had it stained a walnut color to bring the floor color out and let the wall/ceiling stand out. I was planning on wallpaper in between the slats but when I saw the finished install, I was like, Hell nawwwww!!! It's so beautiful without it that I did not want to disturb the beauty of the wood. the designer who did such an awesome job is @keyavantfurnishings and you can find her on Instagram. Her work is dope and she travels too!!
Let's get to it--- Here it is!
Okay, so maybe the picture doesn't do any justice but the video will. My wall color is called Dashing by Sherwin Williams in emerald designers edition. This crisp color lets the wood stand out, along with the veining of the floor.
My husband is a big TV fanatic so having one in the bedroom is a must and what better way to show it than having a big a@# tv mounted on the wall? SMH... But this is both our space so I would have to comprise with a couple of things, the TV is one of them
Next week, I will try to install the light fixtures if they arrive on time. I will be working on getting my custom dresser built and ordering my bedroom set as well as little decor and window treatments. Whew, these 8 weeks will fly by before I know it!
